The Amphitheatre
The amphitheatre at Die Kalkoonde is beautifully situated in the landscape, blending in with the natural environment and partly flanked by the dam. It is the perfect venue for your dream wedding ceremony. The amphitheatre has a maximum capacity of 120 guests. No matter where your guests are situated in this venue, they will be ensured of a golden circle ticket to your special day. We offer a wooden arch that is available on the premises, however you are welcome to bring your own or discuss any alternative requirements. Also available is a wooden stand for the marriage officer’s books if required. If the weather is unfavourable on your special day, you are welcome to use an alternative venue on the property for your ceremony (with prior planning).
The Alternative Venue
The alternative venue is available for your ceremony in case of rain. This is the area we usually use for the signing of the register. It is also used for photos. This area can accommodate 120 guests for the ceremony.
The Reception Venue
This venue is at ground level and is also built with lime stones and bricks. It can accommodate 120 guests with a dance floor. This venue has a spacious kitchen and large doors at the front of the venue opening onto the wooden deck on the dam in front of the building with a wonderful view of the surrounding countryside and Boland mountains in the distance.
Pre-Drinks & Canapes Area
Our pre-drinks and canapes area is right next to the reception venue with our beautiful lawns and covered wooden deck on the dam. We also have a backup area in case of bad weather.
